There
will be a number of drips in your arm, wrist and side of your neck. These are
inserted whilst you are asleep just before the operation commences. They
allow blood to be taken and also monitor the functions of your heart.
Medication and necessary fluids are also administered to you during the
operation via these drips. The drip in your neck will probably remain the
longest.
